Glen Scotia Icons of Campbeltown Release No. 1, The Mermaid, launches a limited series celebrating the folklore of the town that helped one of Campbeltown's three surviving distilleries endure since 1832. Inspired by the carvings on the historic Campbeltown Market Cross and illustrated by artist Joel Holtzman, whose credits include Lucasfilm, Marvel and Disney, the first release recalls the community's legendary mermaid sighting along the shore. To match the story, this unpeated, coastal single malt is finished in rare Palo Cortado sherry casks and bottled at a full cask strength of 108.2 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored. Expect Glen Scotia's saline, maritime character wrapped in the nutty, dry-fruit richness of Palo Cortado: sea salt, almond, dried apricot, toffee and gentle oak spice, finishing long and warming.
