Hydrangea Snell is quite an unusual but beautiful hydrangea. It produces large mophead blooms in early summer with beautiful cross like square petaled flowers in large mop head blooms.
Hydrangea Snell is named after a Mrs Snell from Melbourne. It was found as a spontaneous plant that popped up in her garden. And has been since propagated and distributed. An unusual hydrangea and not one commonly know to many gardeners or nurseries. But beautiful and well worth a spot in any garden.
These flowers begin to open cream-white then shift to a blue or pink, depending on the acidity of the soil. Green tones appear in autumn.
It is a vigorous grower and can reach 1.5 metres if not pruned after flowering.
Our plants are in 200mm pots. And will flower pink this year. Soil or potting media will determine the colour of your flowers. Don't want luck to determine you hydrangea colour? Use Hyadrangea Blueing Agent or Hydrangea Pinking Agent to turn the flowers the colour you desire.
