Glowing, tiny-leaved, and wonderfully useful, Sedum ‘Ogon’ forms a bright carpet of golden succulent foliage that lights up sunny garden spaces. Also known as Japanese Golden Sedum, this low-growing plant spills beautifully over rocks, walls, container edges, and dry garden borders, bringing cheerful color even when it is not in bloom.

Its dense mat of small, rounded leaves makes it perfect for rock gardens, troughs, succulent bowls, pathway edges, green roofs, and water-wise plantings. The vivid chartreuse-gold foliage pairs beautifully with dark aeoniums, blue succulents, terracotta pots, gravel mulch, purple foliage, and orange or pink flowers. In tight spaces, Sedum ‘Ogon’ adds brightness, texture, and a tidy trailing habit without overwhelming its neighbors.

Plant Sedum ‘Ogon’ in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Water lightly once established and avoid soggy conditions. Easy, low maintenance, and delightfully luminous, it is a hardworking succulent groundcover for small spaces and containers. Explore more easy dry-garden favorites in our Sedum collection.
